Fall Fun In First Grade!!

 

 

So Many Exciting things have been happening in First Grade!! Here are just a few that I would like to share.

 

This week we learned about community helpers and Fire Safety. The kids really enjoyed learning from real Firefighters and seeing the truck up close!

 

Monday was our QE day at the Philadelphia Zoo. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Ms. Serge got a picture of all the QE students in front of the large water fountain. Check out the QE home page for that picture.

 

 

 

 

Robotics in First Grade!!!!

 

 

Mrs. Moore came in and gave the
class a lesson on robotics.

The Kids all had a chance to operate a robot and attempt to pick up blocks with it. It was such a neat experience for them.
They LOVED it!!!!

Have your child log in at home so you can see this amazing program first hand! This engaging web-based reading program is a valuable tool to help strengthen your child’s reading skills. It reinforces skills through animated lessons and interactive games, much like video games with cartoon characters. Follow the steps below for home access.

1.    Open browser, type in this engine address (with periods exactly as is) into your address bar: 208.97.60.185

2.    Make sure your pop-ups are not blocked

3.    You will be prompted to download the Unity Player (follow steps)

4.    Webpage will show Imagine Learning login screen

5.    If prompted to allow use of your microphone “allow”

6.    Have your child type in their user name/password

2.    Type in this IP address into engine number space: 208.97.60.185

3.    Have your child type in their user name/password
